Assume the insurers are paying for all this 'study' :-) Their bottom line after all ! Want to cover any loopholes in their premiums ! So now they want clauses in for ' Climate Change ' ??? How will all that be determined ? By these insurance think tanks :-) Wonder what that is costing the premium payer ? The problem does not lie with the councillors - it lies with the administrators and the administrative staff. These people were deployed years ago. They are the ones that are feeding the information to the politicians, they are the ones who actually set the budgets - not the politicians. They are the ones who set up the structures and assign tenders and contracts. The administrators are the ones who ‘set tariff policies’ and write the bylaws. These get sent to council, where the politicians are, who have no clue what these things mean, what the impact is on the end user and simply pass these in council because its ‘politically expedient’ and ‘popular’. The current mayor is clueless, but is a puppet. One needs to have a look at which politicians are linked to which administrators and have been for a very long time - follow the money. Why is the metro building standing empty? Why are queries taking 10 years to resolve and none of the ones where the city owes clients, are getting resolved? How accurate is the R42 billion owed to the city? There is massive amount of money still due back to residents relating to the 2018 valuation roll. Same goes for the 2023 valuation roll where properties again were over valued, simply in an attempt to get revenue in (rob Peter to pay Paul). Queries are repeatedly closed without being resolved with over billing a SOP of the city, implementing illegal preterm policies bullying consumers to pay. These things are administrative driven. Again, go follow the money - see who is benefiting behind the scenes.
